Managing chronic back pain through yoga | WHAM - click to watch video
Rochester, N.Y. - What started as a way to escape not only turned into a major business, but yoga helped shape the life of founder and owner of Breathe Yoga and Juice Bar, Cindy Weis.
"I would lock my bedroom door, put on an album, look at the pictures in the book and start doing poses, and it turned into something that I would have never expected," Weis said. "I was a young girl and I was overweight. I couldn’t do any sports. My mom introduced me to yoga, and I was so grateful."
Yoga also helped her during a time she experienced chronic back pain.
"I had a neck injury when I was 16 years old. Because I was 16, I sort of bounced back, never really looked back at it. Decades later, as my low back started to really bother me and become an obstacle doing physical things that I like. I found myself really finding a lot of relief in the yoga room.," said Weis.
The beginning of a beautiful friendship!
